Sunday Ride: Northern Heights

For the first Sunday London Ride of the year, we offer you this:

A discordant melody of locations as an excuse to visit a section of the Northern Heights - the disused railway line from Finsbury Park to Alexandra Palace, now known as Parkland Walk. A little more upness than usual for a SLR, but this is the gentler slopes of North London. And then we go down.

Note that Parkland Walk is gravel. Experienced gravel riders will need special bikes, a selection of bikepacking luggage and emergency flares. The rest of us will be fine as per usual.

Total distance is about 26km, with 230m of upness.

We'll meet as usual at The Lodge Café, Hyde Park Corner in good time for a 09:30 departure.

The ride will finish at Caffè Tropea, Russell Square.
